It has been about 8 years since you have received a newsletter from the Flourtown Davidson’s (Now the Blue Bell Davidson’s - see new address above). A lot has happened during this hiatus including our move to a 55 plus community (Whitpain Farm), Ryan’s marriage to Kristin, and Rob’s change of vocation from computer consultant to a member of the clergy in the Episcopal Church. (at Saint Paul’s, Chestnut Hill as Deacon). We love our new smaller home with 2 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, living room, dining room, office, den, two car garage, and a partially finished basement with a craft room for Pam and plenty of storage. Although we have fewer rooms the square footage for our new home is about the same as it was in Flourtown which means we have larger kitchen, living room, dining room, closets, and entrance foyer than we had in our 43 years in Flourtown. We have duplicated our family room from our first house, updated the kitchen with granite counters, new appliances and new cabinet doors; added hardwood floors; and upgraded faucets light fixtures, ceiling fans; and customized all closets.
Pam has had some serious medical issues but has recovered nicely. A surprising detached retina was caught in time and vision is almost perfect. Two pulmonary embolisms (PE) are completely recovered and blood thinners will be a permanent part of her regimen. Rob’s Parkinson’s has progressed very slowly with a difficult period this past summer and falls that sidelined him from August through Thanksgiving in 2016 due to orthostatic hypertension (i.e. fainting due to low blood pressure especially in cases of dehydration. He has voluntarily stopped driving and sold his Lexus.
Our boys are all thriving: Andrew has bought his first house a fixer-upper in west Philadelphia after many years in a brownstone next to Rittenhouse Square after his landlord and friend Christian sold it. He plans to convert it into a duplex and an income property.
Kent, Shanon, and the kids (Sylvan, Kai, and Phoebe) are living in an expanded home in Media. The children all attend a Quaker school, Friends Central in Wynnewood, PA. Sylvan is a member of the varsity tennis team and Kai is on the “A” team in the middle school. Phoebe is turning out to be quite the artist and baker.
Eric, Kristen, and girls (Eva, and Autumn) are based in Lafayette, CO. Our first Doctor Davidson (PhD) is Kristen who is employed by Colorado University in Education research. Eva is enrolled at UCLA as a freshman, and with the completion or a series of Advance Placement credits, which could allow her to finish in three years.
Ryan married a Colorado girl almost 6 years ago, Kristin (Spelled with an “i”) who we address as “Kris” to avoid confusion with Dr. Davidson. Kris has a Master’s degree and teaches at a nearby elementary school. She has started a photograph business and displays many sunrise and sunset photo’s on her Facebook page which are amazing.
We celebrated our 50th anniversary his past December with a catered dinner at home with the family (except Ryan & Kris) including all the grandchildren. Our Bichon Frisee, Buttons, brings much joy to our lives (see photo’s).
